Tata Power's mahseer conservation programme has been active for 45 years
Since 1970, Tata Power has been saving the mahseer through its Act for Mahseer initiative. Since its inception, more than 7 million fingerlings of the endangered freshwater game fish species have been produced and reintroduced into water bodies across India.

Finding nesting trees of the hornbill in its plantations, Tata Coffee started the Tata Coffee Hornbill Foundation, which studies the bird’s unique breeding biology, its role as a seed disperser and its seasonal movement patterns and roosting behaviour.

Tata Housing and Tata Capital have been working with WWF India to protect red panda sites in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, and influence state policies towards red panda conservation and the biodiversity preservation effort.
