I) Position Summary

a.    Key Objective / Purpose of the Job:

The key objective for the position is -

  •     To performing migrations and change managements on the existing customer circuits (IP/MPLS services) during critical planned events and downtimes, ensuring the activity completion in stipulated time frames.

  •     To provision IP/ MPLS based services on Tata Communication Global Enterprise network.

    The position is available in 24 * 7 shifts.

    b) Major Activities

  •     Performing migrations and change managements on the existing customer circuits during critical planned events/ downtimes and ensuring the activity completion in stipulated time frames.

  •     Provision IP/ MPLS based services on Tata Communication Global Enterprise network.

  •     For managed customers the customer device configuration is to be carried out.

  •     To perform terminations and ceasing of configurations from network as per the orders.

  •     The position is also responsible for testing the configured and migrated customer services L3 VPN/ L2 VPN/ Internet to the deliverable parameters.

  •     The above mentioned configuration and testing of services to be done on primarily on Cisco and Alcatel Lucent devices. 

    II) Person Specification:

    a) Essential Qualifications:

           Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (Telecommunication/ Computers) or equivalent degree with min. 1 yrs of experience.

    b) Requisite Skills:

  •     Technical

          Sound knowledge of IP/MPLS and MPLS based VPNs. Excellent knowledge of Network Fundamentals, all Routing protocols and Switching. Configuration and troubleshooting skills on Cisco,Juniper, and Nokia(Alcatel Lucent) routers will have an added advantage. Network device configuration, migration and maintenance experience of at least 2 years in an organization of repute.

  •     Functional Excellent knowledge and hands-on on Network Fundamentals, Routing protocols and Switching. Good configuration and troubleshooting skills on Cisco and Alcatel Lucent routers (Hands-on) is a must.Systems/process knowledge are key drivers on the job.      

  •     Behavioral Systematic approach towards work areas.

  •     Should be able to cope up excellently under stressful circumstances.

  •     Good communication skills

    c) Work Experience

  •      Should have worked in a service provider-s environment where network device configuration, migration and maintenance would have been a Core activity. Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper /ALU 7750 SR devices and configurations will have an added advantage. Exposure to IP/MPLS and MPLS based VPNs is desirable. CCNA, CCIP/ CCNP certifications or equivalent Alcatel Lucent certifications and exposure to SAM tool would be an added advantage.

     1-3 years experience in Networking field.
