Role - NOKIA PCRF- Operations Engineer

Role Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nokia PCRF Operations Engineer to join our team and support the L2 Operations activity for Packet Core Network. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) and DRA/DDE component of our network-s Packet Core infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of the PCRF system. The ideal candidate has strong background in Nokia PCRF technologies, possesses in-depth knowledge of the Packet Core Network, and has experience in PCRF operations.

Responsibilities:

·       Manage and maintain the Nokia PCRF system, including configuration, upgrades, and patch management.

·       Monitor the performance and availability of the PCRF platform, proactively identify issues, and implement necessary optimizations.

·       2nd Level Troubleshooting of PCRF Nodes

·       Collaborate with the network engineering team to design, deploy, and optimize the NOKIA PCRF configurations and policies based on business and service requirements.

·       Work closely with stakeholders, including network architects, service designers, and policy managers, to address policy and charging-related requirements.

·       Coordinate with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve PCRF-related issues, including managing support tickets and following up on problem resolution.

·       Perform regular audits and assessments of the NOKIA PCRF system to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

·       Manage software upgrade and Backups.

·       Analyse MOPs and preparation for Change Management activities.

·       Resolving Incidents in provided SLA.

·       Analyse performance parameters and provide solution for Performance enhancement.

·       Assist in capacity planning activities to anticipate future network demands and recommend necessary upgrades or enhancements.

·       Participate in the testing and validation of PCRF configuration and policies to ensure accurate billing and charging of network services.

·       Collaborate with other operational teams, such as network operations centre (NOC) and service assurance, to ensure seamless service delivery and incident resolution.

·       Respond to PCRF-related incidents and problems, investigate root causes, and implement appropriate remediation measures.

·       Document PCRF configuration, troubleshooting procedures, and operational processes for knowledge sharing and future reference.

·       Stay up to date with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in PCRF technologies and the SP Packet Core Network.

·       Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to PCRF-related emergencies or incidents outside of regular business hours. Requirements:

Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

·       Extensive hands-on experience in managing and supporting Nokia PCRF technologies, such as Nokia Policy Suite (CPS) or Nokia SPGW (PCEF).

·       Strong knowledge of the Packet Core Network architecture, includingPCRF-s

·       Familiarity with policy control, charging, and enforcement principles and protocols, including Diameter, Gy/Gx interfaces, and policy rules.

·       Proficiency in scripting and automaton tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) forPCRF configuration and policy management.

·       Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools, such as SIEM platforms, syslog servers, and SNMP-based monitoring systems.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex Nokia PCRF-related issues and perform root cause analysis.

·       Relevant Nokia certification, such as Certified Specialist- Packet Core, are highly desired.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
