Job Overview:
The IT Infrastructure Data Center Manager is responsible for the overall management, planning, and operations of the data center infrastructure. This includes ensuring high availability, performance, and security of data center facilities. The role involves leading a team of IT professionals, coordinating with various departments, and managing vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Center Operations:
Oversee daily operations of data center facilities, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Manage physical and virtual server environments, storage systems, and networking equipment.
Own and Manage Internal and External Audits and compliance
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT infrastructure professionals.
Coordinate work schedules, assign tasks, and manage performance.
Infrastructure Management:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Capacity Planning and Optimization:
Monitor and analyze data center capacity and performance.
Plan and implement capacity upgrades and optimizations to meet business needs.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
Ensure data center infrastructure meets compliance standards and regulations.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Conduct regular testing and updates to ensure readiness.
Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with hardware, software, and service vendors.
Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure vendor performance.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the data center budget.
Monitor expenses and optimize costs without compromising performance and security.
Project Management:
Lead infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
Coordinate with stakeholders, manage timelines, and ensure project deliverables.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of data center configurations and processes.
Generate regular reports on data center performance, capacity, and incidents.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and data center management.
Proven experience in managing large-scale data centers and IT infrastructure projects.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
In-depth knowledge of data center technologies, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong understanding of security and compliance standards.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience on Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE), Vmware, DCIM tools, RHEL Satellite, Ansible, Windows
Exposure to Openstack, AIOPS
Certifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CDCP) are a plus.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
On-call availagbility for critical incidents and emergencies.
May require occasional travel to other data center locations.
