Must-Have** (Ideally should not be more than 3-5) | Participate 24 x 7 in Oracle database administration, software, and hardware support. Strong database experience - Oracle 10g and later versions. Strong understanding of server, SAN and networking technologies. Strong general knowledge of operating systems, storage and overall system design and management. Deep understanding of HA and DR including RAC and Data Guard. Experience around Oracle upgrades and migrations are a must. Develop, perform, and monitor database backups ensuring that backup process is efficient and reliable. GoldenGate Installation, configuration in Classic Mode and Integrated Mode (uni-directional/Bi-directional). GoldenGate/Oracle patching. Experience on User, profile & tablespace management. Troubleshoot Database / Goldengate related issues. Knowledge/experience with Commvault backup tool is preferred.

Good-to-Have | 1) Install the binaries. It can be either database binaries or client binaries. 2) Design the database. 3) Create the database. Open the database for uses/developers. 4) Create uses , Manage the users in database. Its about the permissions to user. 5) Backup the database frequently. 6) Performance tuning. Using AWR report in case of oracle 7) Database migration. Migrate database from one server to another. May be due to hardware issue , or server decommission. 8) Database patching. To overcome bugs or for additional feature patching is required. 9) Database upgrade. Upgrade the database to have new functionalities 10) Character set migration. Move character set to new one. This helps to support more languages. 11) Database securities. 12) Storage & Capacity planning. It includes to keep track about sufficient space available for database to perform operations. 13) Troubleshooting. When thing goes wrong with database , dba has to identify the cause of issue using alert logs or trace logs. |
