Job Description
- To develop the Design Standards & Carryover Strategy in line with defined Technical Policy and Technology Roadmap for Module (UN) and drive engineering of the Module (UN) for the projects in line with the standards.
- Also responsible for critical issue (escalated by ML & SMT Engineer) resolution and Deviation Approval.
- He/ She manages the team of SMT to achieve the performance targets and people development
- Design the sheet metal body parts within the materials available- Do the feasibility of the concept data
- Do the first level formability check-good understanding of the function, assembly, manufacturability, service requirement of the part
- Create Bill of material and maintain the same in PLM
- Contribute in DFMEA/ DFM activities- contribute in VAVE, weight reduction, Innovista initiatives- Contribute in productivity improvement
- Contribute in body optimization
- Knowledge: General Construction, Materials & Technologies required Regulations, and Test Standards & Requirements that have to be met, Interface with other aggregates. Six Sigma Tools (DFMEA, DFM, DFA & DFS), GD&T, EPS and the NPI Process. Cost drivers.
- Tools: Working knowledge of Engineering Tools (XX), PLM Systems, MINT3, RMDVV and other internal systems for e.g. (Upper body): Sheet Metal Forming, Joinery Processes, Sheet Metal Design, Sealing Materials & Processes, Body Construction methods & implication on engineering.
- Requirements including Crash, Durability, Stiffness, Strength & manufacturability
- Hands on experience in Catia V5 (sheet metal design related modules)
- Hands on experience in PLM, BOM management
- Experienced in MS office tools
- Should Interact with SMTLs, VMTL-s, DMU team, PAT team, Manufacturing/ service teams for issue resolution
- Should follow all the processes set by the company
