The aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The twin-tailed siren on the cup. A barista calling out your name. These are just some of the elements of the ‘Starbucks experience’ that are universal across stores. And then there are those that are unique to the neighbourhoods they are in. Like the Tata Starbucks Experiential Stores.
The Starbucks Experiential Store in Mumbai that opened in October 2024 is housed inside an art deco building in the heart of South Bombay. A setting that blends the city's architectural history; the country’s unique coffee culture, featuring indigenous ingredients and flavours; and Starbucks' global heritage with as much finesse and flair as they blend their coffees.
“We want to offer a unique and locally relevant way to connect over coffee," says Adrit Mishra, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Starbucks.
The idea behind these stores -- currently located in Delhi and Mumbai -- he adds is to encourage customers to discover their flavour profile. “They can pair these new offerings with freshly made-to-order food such as puffs and cookies. We have also introduced the AeroPress method, exclusive partner uniforms, and immersive coffee craftsmanship zones to enhance the coffeehouse experience.”
